More than 450 Northwestern New Brunswick Students Explore Careers in Health Care
Edmundston, Friday, October 16, 2026 – More than 450 Grade 10 students from Northwestern New Brunswick took part in the “Come Discover Careers at Vitalité Health Network” event held on Thursday, October 15, at the Edmundston Sports Pavilion.
Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to speak with professionals from a wide range of health care fields, including nursing, medical imaging, laboratory services, pharmacy, rehabilitation and pre-hospital care. They also discovered lesser-known occupations that are essential to the operation of health care facilities, including clinical engineering, medical device reprocessing, facilities management and support services. These interactions helped students gain a better understanding of the various professions, their responsibilities and the educational pathways leading to these careers.
The event aimed to introduce young people to the wide variety of careers available in health care and help them consider their professional futures. Beyond the most familiar occupations, students were able to explore lesser-known professions that play an essential role in the operation of health care facilities.

“We want to show young people that health care offers a wealth of opportunities, far beyond the professions that first come to mind. By speaking directly with our teams, they can discover careers that match their interests and talents. We also hope to inspire them to pursue their education and build their careers right here in our region,” said Milaine Clavette, Regional Director of Logistics and Patient Flow.
Post-secondary institutions from the region were also on hand to provide information about academic programs and educational pathways leading to careers in health care. Representatives from the Network’s Human Resources Department highlighted employment opportunities and the various pathways to joining the organization.
The event was held with the support of the City of Edmundston, which helped provide a venue suited to welcoming the large number of participants. Vitalité Health Network thanks all the professionals, educational institutions, partners, school staff and the City of Edmundston for their contributions to the success of this event.
